Background
Golf has been a lifelong passion for Rich Binney. A few years ago he decided to take that passion to the next level by attending the American Tour Golf School (ATGS) in Orlando, Florida. John Redd, one of the toughest coaches in golf, coached Rich in preparation for playing the senior tour.
Rich focuses on the same time-tested fundamentals of set-up, hand position on the club, posture, balance and alignment that he learned at ATGS. His experience over the last ten years on mini tours, qualifying tournaments, and his affiliation with the PGA have provided a background that helps him maximize the results for each of his students, regardless of age or experience.
Philosophy:
Rich’s personal philosophy revolves around a few simple principles:
- The key to success is keeping the instruction simple.
- Anyone can learn to play golf and everyone, at any level, can improve their game.
- Having a great swing is only part of the game. A strong, balanced stance is the basis of a great swing and building your swing from the ground up is the most effective training method.
- The short game is the most important part of the game.
- Golf is 10% physical skill and 90% mental skill.
- No one gets better without practice.
- Lastly, Rich believes in the importance of the 5 P’s of Golf: (1) Professional Instruction, (2) Proper Fitting Clubs, (3) Practice, (4) Playing; and (5) Positive Attitude.
