  • Nationwide Tour Storylines: Mustache mettle in Utah
    Last Friday in Columbus, Ohio, it was announced that Nationwide Insurance is the new presenting sponsor of the Memorial Tournament on the PGA TOUR. It was also announced that Nationwide will honor its umbrella sponsorship commitment to the Nationwide Tour through 2012 but that it will not extend its sponsorship beyond that. The purse is $3 million with the winner earning $450,000 and 450 Charles Schwab Cup points. This represents the first time in Champions Tour history that an official event will be held in Korea.

    ATLANTA -- Charley Hoffman collected his second PGA TOUR victory at the Deutsche Bank Championship Monday, and in doing so, punched his ticket to THE TOUR Championship presented by Coca-Cola for the first time in his career. Hoffman, who improved to No. 2 in the FedExCup standings with the victory at TPC Boston, assured himself a spot in the field when THE TOUR Championship returns to East Lake Golf Club, Sept. 22-26. Former Georgia Tech All-American Matt Kuchar continues to lead the FedExCup points list following his victory at The Barclays and a T11 last week outside Boston.
